The Works is an award winning music company based in London that has been working with some of the world's leading advertising agencies and brands for more than 10 years. During this time we have built up a production roster comprising a hand picked collection of highly talented composers, songwriters, artists, orchestrators and producers all of whom are established and working in the music industry today. In addition, our search and licensing department is fully independent, ensuring that we aren’t in the pocket of one or two music publishers or labels, placing the whole world of music at our disposal. Our ability to seek out talent from the music industry and bring it to the advertising and film industries is what keeps our music sounding fresh and real and what keeps our clients coming back for more.
We create great music for the advertising, digital, television and film industries. We have a roster of 30 (and growing) artists, composers, orchestrators, arrangers and producers all of whom who are established in their own right and working in the music industry today. Our representation of established artists and real musicians is what sets our work apart and keeps our clients coming back for more.
Finding the right piece of music can be an impossible task and the licensing process a minefield, if you don't know what you are doing of course. Our team of supervisors are completely independent of labels and publishers allowing them complete creative freedom on every project. Our team are experienced in finding the best tracks and are tough negotiators which always results in the best and most cost effective answer to any brief.
Adapting existing pieces of music for a commercial, programme or film can add an extra sense of originality whilst retaining familiarity. Our re-records have won countless industry awards including the coveted D&AD Yellow Pencils, British Arrows and Andy Awards to name a few. Our Creative Director Nick Payne is often called upon to assist publishers and labels with the re-recording of their own catalogue for sync purposes.
We are fully equipped to take care of all the necessary legal issues and negotiations that occur during the process of creating and sourcing music for our clients. We also have a musicologist who is always on hand to advise on copyright issues throughout a production.
We create original, unique and often incredibly catchy sonic logos for brands and broadcasters. Our sonic logos can be heard the world over and have been used by brands as diverse as Sony Playstation, the BBC, T Mobile and BMW.
We work closely with our clients to develop the right sound for their brand and align that brand with the perfect composition, song, artist or combination of all of these vital elements. From simply finding the right piece of music for a commercial, to facilitating deals between artists and brands we can assist with the production of a campaign from early script and concept stages right through to final production.
